Pride of Bhutanese Refugees

TB Chhetri: Moni Kumar Pathak, black belt of karate, born to late father and Mrs. Maya Pathak in Samrang under Samdrupjongkhar Bhutan is now US Army. He has four sisters living in Sector E2, Khudunabari, all resettled in the USA except one and one younger brother who helps his mother run canteen at Khudunabari Camp. Currently he is in USA Army doing duty in South Korea.

He began his education in Samrang Primary School and due to the eviction by Royal Government of Bhutan; he continued his study at Sun Rise Academy (SRA), in Khudunabari Refugee Camp since 1993. After passing Class X, he opted Science stream. Finally he emerged out as B. Sc. Student from North Bengal University, West Bengal, India.

He was one of the sincere, hard worker, serious, helpful, disciplined, cheerful and polite students. He served at SRA as a science teacher. During his tenure, he worked whole heartedly with full cooperation in disciplining students being the member of School Disciplinary Committee.

Today seeing him as a US Army, every Bhutanese feels happy and proud of having him achieved his cherished goal.
